Windows on the world

Posted by ELC in Early Learning Campus on Jun 24, 2008

The excitement is like a gaseous compound…not easily contained !  You can see it on visitors’ faces, and feel it in their wide eyes as they marvel at the emerging space of the Early Learning Campus.  Everyone who visits the ELC remarks about its distinctive windows.  Looking from the inside out through these magnificent shapes is like taking a fresh inspiring perspective, a deep breath of exhilaration.  These massive windows  serve as both frame and invitation….boldly  outlining the surrounding neighborhood while provoking observation and inquiry about its contents.  Although they are a dominating presence, they allow strong sunlight to fall solidly on the space inside.  Standing in the space generates an experience that propels one’s imagination and creative juices.

What wonderful space this will be for young children to develop their views (both literally and metaphorically) of the world ! ….a space that almost demands exploration from its occupants while  applauding each step of the process.… a space that is jubilant with each discovery but offers protection for  the search.  This space will be the Early Learning Campus…truly a space worthy of an exemplary learning community for young children!
