CEHD Faculty Member Honored at UofL Event

The University of Louisville recognized distinguished faculty recently at its Fall 2008 Celebration of Faculty Excellence which was held at the Speed Art Museum. Among the many notable faculty who were selected to receive the award was CEHD faculty member, Dr. Jim Stone III.
Dr. James Stone III, a distinguished university scholar, led the UofL group that successfully competed for the new National Research Center for Career and Technical Education that opened in October 2007. He serves as the center director and has maintained an active research program for 25 years. He has been responsible for more than $46 million in external grants that focus primarily on the role of schools in linking youth and adults to the workplace.
Stone is also the lead researcher on the Math-in-CTE study of incorporating math in occupational curricula. He has written or co-authored more than 90 research reports, journal articles or books; received 12 awards for outstanding research; and presented more than 350 papers, speeches and workshops. In addition, he served as editor of the Journal of Vocational Education Research.
