The North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) has selected Mary Hums, professor of Health and Sport Sciences to receive 2009 Earle F. Zeigler Award.
The Zeigler Award is the most prestigious NASSM award and may be awarded only once over the course of an individual’s career. Nominees must have a minimum of 10 years service (or combination) as teacher, supervisor or administrator; made significant contributions to the field through scholarship, research, leadership; and donated substantial time and support to NASSM.
Dr. Hums was a guest speaker and was presented the award at the NASSM conference in May 2009. Alumni, faculty and students were also present to show their support of Dr. Hums and her accomplishments.
The purpose of NASSM is to promote and encourage study, research, scholarly writing and professional development in the area of sport management–both theoretical and applied aspects, (NASSM website http://www.nassm.com/).
The faculty and staff at the College of Education and Human Development would like to congratulate Dr. Hums on receiving this prestigious award.
