CEHD Graduate Wins Milken National Educator Award

Jay Crocker, a 2004 graduate from the MAT Secondary Education program, has been selected to receive the 2009 Milken National Educator Award. Crocker is an English teacher at Ballard High School and was surprised with the announcement at a morning assembly session at the school. The award also includes a $25,000 cash prize.

Recipients of the award are recognized in early to mid-career for what they have achieved and for the promise of what they will accomplish, (http://www.mff.org/mea/).
Since 1993, 50 Kentucky teachers have won the award from the California-based Milken Family Foundation, (http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200910081226/NEWS0105/910080332).
