Planetarium Debuts New Show on May 31

The Rauch Planetarium at the University of Louisville is offering the public a journey across the solar system through its newest show, The Planets, which debuts May 31 with a special celebration from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Planets provides an in-depth look at each planet and features imagery from NASA and the Hubble Telescope. The 37-minute show is narrated by actress Kate Mulgrew, best known for her role in Star Trek: Voyager, and is geared for middle to high-school students.

HSS Faculty Member Elected to Faculty Senate

Susan Peacock, M.Ed, M.S., CN, has been elected to the University of Louisville Faculty Senate to serve an annual term as one of six part-time faculty representatives, beginning with the fall semester, 2008. Ms. Peacock currently teaches Healthy Lifestyles in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences.

See Live Broadcast of Mars Landing at the Planetarium

[ May 25, 2008; 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. ] When the NASA rover, Phoenix, lands on Mars, May 25th, UofL’s Rauch Planetarium  will show the action “live” via a NASA satellite connection.

KATC Family Support and Teacher Training: Key Pieces in the Puzzle of Autism

As a mother of a child with autism, Nat McKay understands very well the frustration parents feel when trying to find answers and support after the initial diagnosis. When her son JT was diagnosed with the disorder at the age of three, support was fragmented at best. No one could really answer basic questions about what next steps to take with her child. What do they do as he gets older? Can he go to school?
