KATC 2012 Workshop Opportunities

The Kentucky Autism Training Center (KATC) is offering a summer institute and several workshops across the state for educators and families of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These events offer unique opportunities for families and professionals to come together to discuss how to implement evidence-based practices at home, in communities, schools, and workplaces.
The 2012 KATC Autism Institute will be held June 18 – 20 on UofL’s Shelby Campus. The institute will feature over 30 professional development sessions that are designed to address program topis such as planning, social skills, and interpersonal relationships. KATC is also hosting a series of regional workshops, “Supporting Autism 24/7,” during the spring. The workshops are created for parents and professionals and will offer training in designing a supportive home environment for individuals with Autism; developing strategies for individual with Autism when going out into the community; and, understanding functions of behaviors and how to develop strategies based on those specific functions.
