Planetarium to Premiere New Holiday Show

November 24, 2009 in College News, Planetarium News

The Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium is pleased to announce the premier of a new seasonal show just in time for the 2009 holidays!

Plan to take time this holiday season to explore the spectrum of traditions that influence how we celebrate the season in the 21st century. Season of Light highlights the historical religious and cultural rituals practiced by people of different faiths and origins during the time of winter solstice. The show also showcases what is behind some of the entertaining seasonal traditions such as kissing under the mistletoe.

Deepen your knowledge of the winter sky as well as your appreciation of the richness of the holiday traditions you and your family hold dear.

Season of Light will premier during our annual holiday parties on December 5 and 19, 2009, 11 am – 3:00 pm. During the holiday parties we will also show our Holiday Laser Music Show, a fun collection of holiday music set to seasonal images. Holiday activities and games for the kids will be set up in the lobby. All this holiday fun is available for the special admission price of just $5 per person. What a great way to kick off the holiday season!

11:45 a.m. – Holiday Laser Music Show
