SPAD Golf Scramble Huge Success

The Sport Administration program in the Health and Sport Sciences Department at the College of Education hosted their annual golf scramble recently to benefit the SPAD scholarship fund and Atkinson Elementary School.

This year, event proceeds reached an all-time-high, grossing $20,690, through sponsor support and the 134 players who participated in the scramble.

The event is managed by students who are responsible for every aspect of the scramble from finding sponsors, participants and a location for the tournament, to requesting donations for the silent auction. Some of the items featured in this year’s silent auction were season tickets for the Tennessee Titans, Reds tickets and miscellaneous UofL and other sport memorabilia.

The purpose of the event is to not only raise funds for SPAD scholarships and Atkinson Elementary School’s physical education department, but to also prepare students to become aspiring leaders in the sport industry.

If you would like to make a donation to the SPAD scholarship fund, please contact Chris Greenwell at 502-852-0555.
